Chunks, moving house, anxiety, and Dungeons & Dragons

It’s been a while since the Case of the Missing Chunks…and even longer since my last semi-decent post (YMMV) – so it’s time to sling some words around and update the three or four people that stumble across this site when they Google ‘Kate Winslet Boobs’ or ‘Elephant Cock’…still the two biggest Google results for this site. Y’all motherfuckers need Sithis!

So the chunks were regained, the story submitted, the story accepted, and the usual business of writing where publication is delayed and blah blah blah. The long and short of it is I have two short stories coming out at SOME POINT this year…hopefully.

I’ve had another two articles in Writing Magazine (May and June issues) – a two part series dealing with delusion, and how it can be both harmful and helpful to a writer and their career – all of this inspired by a very delusional person on a certain forum. So after all the grief and agro they caused, after all the vein popping nonsense and idiocy/stubbornness/ignorance on their part – thanks for the pay cheques! 😉

I’ve moved out of Leeds, into Wakefield, just about unpacked everything after a month – my other half is moving in this weekend, the dog is on his way out, my bank balance is remarkably somewhere north of bankrupt, I’m on with a new story for a sequel to the antho I sold one of my aforementioned stories to…erm…what else? Joined a D&D group, something I’ve wanted to do since I watched the cartoon as a wee nipper – but apparently you need friends to do that, so it took a while!

It also involves stepping way out of comfort zone (“performing” in front of friends = awesome! In front of people I don’t know very well yet = anxiety attack) but I’m gonna try my best to get involved and just have fun.

Speaking of anxiety and bees and stuff – its Mental Health Week so now would be a good time to mention I’m finally on medication for my issues and things seem to be going good with it all. Pleeeeease, do not hesitate to reach out to someone (ANYBODY!) if you need to. Do NOT suffer in silence. Your problems or issues ARE important.

So anyway…I’m baaaack.

Down to one drink a day!

So glad for you that the stories finally found their missing limbs and were accepted.

So good to hear that your life is on the up and up and that you have taken steps to look after yourself. I never knew you were interested in D&D, though.

Good stuff regarding the stories, I shall keep my eyes peeled for them 🙂
