C, D, and E are for Crap…disaster! End.

Yep its official, I’m bowing out of the A-Z Challenge this year. My third year doing the challenge and the first time I’ve had to give up…so much for third time lucky. Or is it lucky you don’t have to read my posts?? I’m really sorry to be doing this, especially so close to the start of the challenge, but life has found a way of getting in my way. Again.

With a novel to concentrate on; other (more usual) crap popping up in my life; Camp NaNoWriMo to complete; and a pile of hefty university assignments mounting up, I can’t justify the time to sit down every single day and not only come up with a decent idea but also try and make it interesting…and a decent length.

Maybe if I had planned this year’s posts out beforehand, then things would be different, but as it stands I’d have to devote too much time each day to coming up with something appealing out of the blue.

I’ll still be posting about Interesting Ideas and Crazy Concepts, so pop back later for those. They won’t be daily, but they will be here…and hell, once everything has been sorted (or at least dialled down a little) I’ll treat you all to a month of typically bizarre posts!

Aside from writing the daily posts I find setting aside time to go and read other people’s blogs is difficult. At least you have the guts to know when to quit – it’s not meant to rule your life, there are plenty of other hoops to jump through anyway. Good luck with all the other things clamouring for your attention! 😉

Yeah, it takes so long because I open up a blank document THEN decide what to write. Twenty minutes later I’m in rant mode and I try to make the piece as long as possible. Shame I can’t take part this year but like you say it’s not the be all and end all 🙂

That’s a shame – not many of us TB-ers out in the A-Z wilderness – but I do understand. Good luck with all the other crap!

I’ll just have to refer people to my older A-Z challenges, keep them amused for a month 😛

I’m agreeing with Sue, finding time to read and comment on other people’s blogs is so time consuming (though very fun at times). The challenge is exhausting, I don’t know how you juggled it this long while also doing Camp NaNo and Uni work. If you think your time is more wisely spent dropping out, then do what’s best for you and your writing!

Thanks, Clare. Bit gutted I won’t be able to meet a load of new people this year (didn’t I meet you through A-Z?), but I guess I can have a few mins every now and again to comment on other people’s posts 🙂

I like the labels you’ve attached to this, lol

Oh well, see you next year!

      I do enjoy a good tag 😀

My favourite is still “Holy crap donkeys on radioactive scooters from Pluto” 😀

Oh, Steve, that’s a shame, and with you being the impetus for so many others doing it, even more so. Hope you get all the work done this afternoon. I know, I know, it’s not going to happen. L

If I catch up on everything else I’ll rush to finish my A-Z’s, but I really doubt it will happen 😛

Shame to hear you’re having to bail out, but it’s far better than getting stressed over it. Hope everything gets sorted soon.

Sorry to see your departure, but I know how things go. We’ll look for you next year!
